Adults 50+ can now pre-register for COVID-19 vaccination

Waterloo Region – Starting today, anyone who is 50+ (or born in 1971 and turning 50 this year) can pre-register for the COVID-19 vaccine in Waterloo Region. The Province announced it is expanding pre-registration due to an expected increase in the vaccine supply.

Members of the public who are eligible for the vaccine, including adults 50+, can pre-register for the vaccine on the Region of Waterloo website: COVID-19 Vaccination Pre-registration.

It may take 4-6 weeks to be contacted for an appointment. When you receive notification, you are strongly encouraged to book your appointment right away. People will be invited to book an appointment in the order they were invited to pre-register.

Adults who are 40+, or are turning 40 in 2021, can also receive the AstraZeneca vaccine at some primary care offices and select pharmacies across Waterloo Region. Appointments are required at primary care offices. Most pharmacies book appointments and some allow walk-ins so you should check before you go.
