Remembrance Day service changes at the Region of Waterloo
Waterloo Region – Here is the list of Region of Waterloo service changes for observance of Remembrance Day on Monday, November 11.
What's open:
- Regular curbside collection of garbage, blue box, green bin, yard waste and bulky items. Please have items out by 7 a.m.
- Grand River Transit (GRT) will operate on a regular schedule, however bus and train service will pause at 11 a.m. to mark Remembrance Day.
- There will be no ION light rail service between Grand River Hospital and Mill Stations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., to accommodate the ceremony at the Kitchener cenotaph. Shuttle buses will be running and customers should board at 301R ION replacement stops.
- The following bus routes will also be on detour during Remembrance Day ceremonies: 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 16, 20, 55, 57, 203 and 204. For more information, visit www.grt.ca/nov11.
- Region of Waterloo Library branches will be open during regular hours.
- Region of Waterloo International Airport.
What’s closed:
- All Regional administrative offices (99 Regina in Waterloo, 150 Frederick in Kitchener, 150 Main in Cambridge, airport administrative offices).
- All GRT Customer Service Centres.
- Employment Services/Welcome Spaces (99 Regina, 150 Main, and 20 Weber) will be closed.
- All Public Health Clinics (99 Regina Street South in Waterloo, 150 Main Street in Cambridge and 20 Weber Street East in Kitchener)
- Home Child Care offices will be closed. For urgent issues, call 519-575-4400 and ask for Home Child Care.
- Sunnyside Home administration will be closed.
- Community Alzheimer Day programs in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge will be closed. Overnight stay respite will be open.
- All Waste Management sites.
