About the projectThe Region of Waterloo is improving the intersection of Westmount Road and Union Boulevard in Kitchener. We will be adding new traffic signals with push-buttons and countdown signals, resurfacing the pavement, painting pedestrian crosswalks, adding accessibility ramps and extending the traffic medians.

About the projectThe Region has built a pedestrian/cycle bridge that will be placed across Highway 7/8 to improve access and active transportation in the area. The bridge will be lifted and placed across the highway between the Fischer Hallman Rd and Homer Watson Blvd interchanges.

About the projectThe Region of Waterloo is installing a raised pedestrian crossing on Myers Road east of Lorraine Drive at the existing traffic signal. The raised pedestrian crossing includes pavement markings, signage, and a “speed hump” to provide greater visibility of the crossing area and help slow down traffic.

Project updateAs part of the Cedar Creek Road and Trussler Road roundabout project, we'll be moving into stage 2 of construction on Wednesday, August 7. Musselman Excavating is the contractor on this project.

About the projectWe will be repairing the asphalt on Church Street from Arthur Street to Dunke Street. This includes removing the top 50mm of asphalt, cleaning, applying a tack coat to keep the asphalt layers together, then resurfacing with new asphalt.

About the projectWe will be repairing damaged asphalt at 125 locations across the Region over the next four months. This process includes removing the top layer of asphalt, cleaning, applying a tack coat to keep the asphalt layers together, and resurfacing with new asphalt and road lines.

About the projectAs part of the Fountain Street improvements, we will be closing the Fountain Street and Maple Grove Road intersection for two days to complete this next phase of construction. After this phase is complete, the road will return to single lane traffic going in each direction.
