The Region of Waterloo is investing $68,400 in nine local organizations through its 2026 Entrepreneurial Initiatives Grants, supporting non-profit and charitable organizations in the community to support and grow our talent ecosystem. 

The Region of Waterloo Water Supply Capacity Allocation Policy has been developed to ensure a fair, simple and fully transparent way to transfer water supply capacity to area municipalities in the Mannheim Service Area to support future growth, as water becomes available. 

This morning, 1,351 elementary students with out-of-date vaccination records were suspended under the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA). Students who have been suspended can return to school once their vaccination records are up to date, or a valid exemption is on file.

After hearing from 1,867 young people in 2023, the Children and Youth Planning Table (CYPT) of Waterloo Region is set to launch their fourth region-wide Youth Impact Survey. 

The Region of Waterloo is pleased to invite the community back to Doon Heritage Village, with a grand reopening on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The “Back to the Village” event will feature returning favourites like costumed interpreters, farm animals, and historic games, as well as music, food, and entertainment for everyone.

Regional Council has approved a three-year agreement with Unifor Local 4304. 

The Region has been awarded as one of the 100 Best Fleets in the Americas Award by NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA), which recognizes innovative fleets across the Americas. 

Members of Unifor Local 4304 have voted to accept a three-year agreement with The Region of Waterloo. A special meeting of Regional Council will take place in the coming days for final ratification of the agreement.

The Region of Waterloo and Unifor Local 4304 have reached a tentative agreement. Transit services will continue uninterrupted, pending ratification by union members on Sunday, May 3.
