The Lobbyist Registry is an online tool that sets clear rules for lobbyists and ensures fair documentation of lobbying activities with Region of Waterloo Councilors, Commissioners and Directors.

  • Finished trail connects city amenities to transit services Waterloo Region – A newly completed trail in Waterloo Region is providing important connections to transit and the wider pedestrian and cycling network. The Central Station Trail connects the Iron Horse Trail and Central ION Station in downtown Kitchener and the future transit hub to be located at King and Victoria Streets.
  • Healing of the Seven Generations to Open First Indigenous-led Child Care Centre in Waterloo Region The Healing of the Seven Generations “A Community Healing Strategy & Support Program” Waterloo Region – The Healing of the Seven Generations “A Community Healing Strategy & Support Program” will open the community’s first Indigenous-led licensed child care program called Ga'nigǫhi:yo Indigenous Child Care and Family Centre at 30 Christopher Drive in Cambridge. The program will provide culturally responsive child care for up to 65 children, ages zero to four years old.

  • Region of Waterloo recognized for the design and construction of WRPS Central Division building Waterloo Region – On November 5, 2024, Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) honoured the Region of Waterloo at their Annual Awards Night ceremony with an award in the category of Team Policing in recognition of exceptional work in the design, construction, and implementation of the new Central Division police building in Kitchener. Two Regional staff from the Facilities and Fleet Management division were recognized for demonstrating their outstanding commitment to improving facilities and operational efficiency.
  • 2023 Youth Impact Survey Racial Identity Snapshot is now available Access the aggregate briefs and all eight data snapshots from the Children and Youth Planning Table WATERLOO REGION - The Children and Youth Planning Table (CYPT) of Waterloo Region has released the final disaggregated Snapshot from the 2023 Youth Impact Survey (YIS). The Racial Identity Snapshot is the eighth and final dataset focusing on different subpopulations of young people in Waterloo Region.
  • Region explores transit priority lanes for Fischer-Hallman Road Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is exploring ways to improve travel on Fischer-Hallman Road between Westmount Road and New Dundee Road. The Region will undertake a study to look at new transit priority lanes on Fisher-Hallman Road.
