  • Region of Waterloo gains 411 new child care spaces and more funding The Ministry of Education allocated 411 new child care spaces under the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) agreement funded by the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo will receive 411 more child care spaces, covered under CWELCC, to be open by the end of 2026. These spaces are in addition to the previous 3,725 spaces already allocated to the Region, bringing the total to 4,136.
