The Region has been awarded as one of the 100 Best Fleets in the Americas Award by NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA), which recognizes innovative fleets across the Americas.
Members of Unifor Local 4304 have voted to accept a three-year agreement with The Region of Waterloo. A special meeting of Regional Council will take place in the coming days for final ratification of the agreement.

The Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) has achieved Level 1 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program. The level, called “Footprint measurement,” means the airport has measured its greenhouse gas emissions and identified where they come from within airport operations. This creates a baseline to track progress and support future reductions.
Elementary school suspensions will take effect on Thursday, May 7, 2026, for those who received a suspension order from Public Health. This applies to elementary school students who do not have up-to-date vaccination records or a valid exemption on file by Monday, May 4, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
