Youth can apply for up to $5,000 in funding with a total of $50,000 available.

  • Region of Waterloo gains 411 new child care spaces and more funding The Ministry of Education allocated 411 new child care spaces under the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) agreement funded by the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo will receive 411 more child care spaces, covered under CWELCC, to be open by the end of 2026. These spaces are in addition to the previous 3,725 spaces already allocated to the Region, bringing the total to 4,136.
  • The Region’s Waste Discovery Day takes you behind the scenes Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is excited to invite the community to go “Beyond the Curb” during Waste Discovery Day, May 10, at the Waterloo Waste Management Centre. Waste Discovery Day will feature family-fun attractions including guided bus tours of the Waterloo landfill, a falconer meet and greet, face painting, mint planting, garbage bin painting, children’s games, and a look at the new garbage and organic carts.
  • Water recreational season brings a reminder to be mindful Waterloo Region – As the weather warms up and water recreational season begins on the Grand River, the Region reminds residents to be cautious around dams. Over the next few weeks, residents will see new warning and danger signs at multiple locations around the Hidden Valley Dam on the Grand River to advise water users of the dam.
