The Strong Cities Network provides a platform for mayors and local leaders to connect, share experiences, and develop strategies to create cohesive, and safe communities.
Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) is excited to announce it has achieved ‘RHF Accessibility Certified Gold,' the highest certification level under the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) program. A legacy of Rick Hansen's “Man In Motion World Tour,” which took place over 40 years ago, the Rick Hansen Foundation is committed to a world without barriers.
Waterloo Region – Through on-going work and updates to the Water Supply Strategy, a water capacity issue has been identified within the Mannheim Service Area, which supplies water to Kitchener, Waterloo, and parts of Cambridge, Woolwich, and Wilmot. While water monitoring reports have consistently shown significant capacity, a combination of factors, including aging infrastructure, lower levels of water in the system, and the pressures of rapid growth, are impacting water supply capacity.

Waterloo Region –The Region of Waterloo Library (RWL) is excited to announce that their local history collection has moved to a new and improved website. The new site has the same digital resources as before but is easier to use.
Waterloo Region - Region of Waterloo Council has approved extending light rail from Fairway Station to downtown Cambridge, marking a significant milestone toward connecting residents across the community with rapid transit. “Council's decision represents a major step in delivering the original vision for rapid transit, which was a continuous connection from Waterloo to Kitchener to Cambridge,” said Region of Waterloo Chair Karen Redman.
