  • Region of Waterloo and Miller Waste Systems celebrate Pride Waterloo Region – When you put your waste to the curb this month, you may notice a Miller collection truck showing its pride. With a truck decked out in a Pride at Work rainbow mural, Miller Waste Systems joins the Region of Waterloo in celebrating Pride Month.
  • GRT fares changing on July 1 Waterloo Region - Effective July 1, 2023, Grand River Transit (GRT) fares will increase by an average of 2.5 per cent to meet the rising cost of operating transit, and grow the network to encourage future ridership.

  • Region launches consultation for library service expansion in Woolwich Waterloo Region – Today the Township of Woolwich and Region of Waterloo are launching a public engagement process that will inform how the Region of Waterloo Library will expand service to the growing community of Breslau. The location for a proposed library branch is the Breslau Community Centre.

The Region reminds all residents of the Water Conservation By-law, and to strictly adhere to the by-law restrictions and reduce water use at this time.
  • Pride with us Waterloo Region – To mark Pride Month, Grand River Transit (GRT) is inviting the community to Pride with us. Throughout the month of June, the GRT Pride bus will travel on conventional bus routes, and all GRT buses will have Pride decals near the front doors.
  • Collaborative hub launches to aid arts and culture engagement across region Engagement forum to inform municipal culture plans Waterloo Region - This week, the Cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo, alongside the Region of Waterloo, launched their first-ever collaborative, online engagement forum on arts and culture. The Arts and Culture Engagement Hub provides a virtual space for community members across the region to share their perspectives on the cultural landscape.
  • Temporary closures on Ottawa and Weber streets for asphalt work Waterloo Region – Starting May 23 through May 26, the Region of Waterloo and its contractor, Steed & Evans Ltd. will have rotating closures in Kitchener on Ottawa, Weber, and King streets, and area side streets for asphalt work.
