KidsAbility staff have already volunteered their time and talents to support hundreds of children to be successfully vaccinated in a sensory-friendly environment.

  • Bivalent COVID-19 booster now available for priority groups Waterloo Region – Starting today, the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 bivalent vaccine is available in Waterloo Region for individuals in certain priority groups. A booster dose of this bivalent vaccine will provide added protection during the fall and winter months when the community transmission of COVID-19 is expected to increase due to more time spent indoors and a seasonal increase in the circulation of respiratory viruses.
  • Commissioner for Transportation Services Announcement Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is excited to announce that Mathieu Goetzke is joining the organization, taking up the position of Commissioner for Transportation Services. As the Region grows to close to 1 million people over the next 30 years, the role of transit and transportation will continue to grow in importance, as we shape the community for generations to come.
  • Road safety measures making a positive difference in reducing collisions Waterloo Region - Regional roads are getting safer thanks to investments in safety measures. The Region of Waterloo's 2020 Collision Report summarizes traffic collisions that occurred between 2016 and 2020.
  • Water and Wastewater report confirms adequate capacity in 2021 Waterloo Region – The Region has completed the 2022 Water and Wastewater Monitoring Report that assesses the Region’s ability to accommodate water supply and wastewater treatment facilities demands as of December 31, 2021, and out as far as 2036. This annual report documents actual water consumption and wastewater flows, provides a basis for preparing the capital budget and user rates, measures the amount of water that is treated at each plant and how much is sent into the water distribution systems, assesses future growth demands, and becomes a valuable resource for staff when reviewing development applications.
  • Commissioner of Engineering and Environmental Services Announcement Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo is pleased to announce that Jennifer Rose will join the organization as Commissioner of Engineering and Environmental Services.  On a daily basis, the Region’s Engineering and Environmental Services Department provides essential services to all residents across the tenth largest community in Canada, ranging from water services to waste management, as well as road design and road construction.
  • 5-11 year olds eligible for booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine Waterloo Region – Starting tomorrow, families with children between the ages of 5-11 who have been waiting for a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can book an appointment for their next dose. A booster dose is recommended six months after completion of a primary series.
