  • Region of Waterloo partners with Hourglass HR to get more third doses in arms Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo is partnering with Hourglass HR, a trusted Canadian recruiting and staffing firm, to operate a vaccination clinic at Regional Headquarters, 150 Frederick Street in Kitchener that will be open seven days a week. As Ontario faces a surge in COVID-19 cases due to the highly contagious Omicron variant, the additional health human resources support from Hourglass HR will make it possible to administer more than 2,000 additional third doses per week during the months of January and February.
  • Ontario temporarily moving to modified Step 2 of the Roadmap to Reopen Waterloo Region –In response to an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, the government of Ontario is moving the province to a modified version of Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen effective Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 12:01 a.m.
  • Region and Red Cross partner to add more third dose vaccines in Waterloo Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo, in partnership with the Provincial Government and the Canadian Red Cross, is adding additional third dose vaccine appointments for residents through a pop-up clinic at 99 Regina Street South in Waterloo. These third dose clinics will run from Sunday January 2 through to Saturday January 8 from 10 a.

  • Adults 30+ to receive Moderna at Waterloo Region’s vaccination clinics into the new year Waterloo Region – Due to the high demand for third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and an unexpected provincial Pfizer vaccine shortage, all adults 30 years of age and older can expect to receive Moderna for their first, second or third dose at vaccination clinics across Waterloo Region starting tomorrow. Both mRNA vaccines are highly effective against severe COVID-19 and have been given to Waterloo Region residents throughout the vaccine rollout based on the availability of the vaccines.

Members of the Region of Waterloo’s Library Committee voted in favour of the proposed policy change at its committee meeting on Wednesday, December 8; a decision that was ratified at Regional Council yesterday.
