  • Library Staff Support Vaccination Rollout Across Waterloo Region Waterloo Region – Adults 80 years of age and older, who have pre-registered for the COVID-19 vaccine, will be getting a phone call in the coming days and weeks from the staff of one of our local library systems to book their vaccination appointment. Staff of Kitchener Public Library, Waterloo Public Library, Idea Exchange (Cambridge), and Region of Waterloo Library (serving the townships) have offered to navigate the online appointment system so everyone in our vulnerable older population – who has indicated a phone call is their preferred way to be contacted – is booked for their immunization.
  • Region of Waterloo releases local 2021 Bike Map Waterloo Region - The Region of Waterloo and Explore Waterloo Region are excited to announce the release of the 2021 Bike Map. This map showcases all bike infrastructure in Waterloo Region and includes route suggestions and points of interest.
  • Second fixed vaccination clinic opens Waterloo Region – The second fixed vaccination clinic opened in Waterloo Region at 435 The Boardwalk this morning, marking another major milestone in the community’s vaccine roll-out. This follows the opening of the first fixed vaccination clinic at Grand River Hospital in December.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Opening in Waterloo and Cambridge Waterloo Region – The Vaccine Distribution Task Force is announcing that the large public health clinic at 435 The Boardwalk, in Waterloo will open Thursday, March 4 and will begin vaccinating adults 80 years of age and older, followed by others who are eligible as part of the Phase One priority populations. An additional clinic location will also open in Cambridge during the week of March 8 to serve adults 80 years of age and older and others who are eligible in Phase One.
  • State of the Region address looks beyond COVID-19 Waterloo Region – The Rotary Clubs of Waterloo Region together with the Region of Waterloo presented Council’s vision for the community, now and into the future, to more than 660 guests at today’s State of the Region event. Regional Chair Karen Redman explained how Regional investments will help improve the lives of all residents in Waterloo Region.
  • Region Announces Locations of COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics Waterloo Region - Today, the Region of Waterloo is announcing the locations for two large public health vaccination clinics where thousands of community members will be immunized as part of the Region's 5 Clinic Types Strategy for COVID-19 vaccine rollout. As vaccine supply increases in the coming months, these locations will play a critical role in the Region's target of delivering 10,000 or more doses each day.
  • Region is looking for Immunization Clinic Volunteers Waterloo Region – The Vaccine Distribution Task Force is recruiting COVID-19 Immunization Clinic volunteers. Volunteers are needed to provide assistance to the Region of Waterloo in the delivery of COVID-19 immunization clinics in a variety of non-medical roles.
  • Phase One pre-registration system for COVID-19 Vaccine launches in Waterloo Region Waterloo Region – High-priority groups can now pre-register for COVID-19 vaccination in Waterloo Region. Those identified as part of Phase One of the province’s vaccination roll-out plan, including Adults 80+, are encouraged to register to be contacted for a vaccine appointment.
  • Vaccine roll-out planning advances in Waterloo Region with more detailed provincial direction Waterloo Region – More than 26,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Waterloo Region since December 22, 2020. This includes more than 12,000 people who are now fully vaccinated with two doses.
  • Community paramedicine program receives nearly $7.8 million in funding Waterloo Region – Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services will receive nearly $7.8 million in funding, over three years, from the Province of Ontario to expand the community paramedicine program for long-term care.
