  • Cambridge Pinebush vaccination clinic will begin to wind down in September Waterloo Region – Cambridge Pinebush, Waterloo Region’s largest vaccination clinic will reduce operations after August 31. Starting September 4, the Cambridge Pinebush location will be in operation two days a week.
  • GRT improving customer experience with new Twitter service alerts Waterloo Region – Grand River Transit (GRT) is improving the way it communicates service disruptions to customers with the launch of a new Twitter account dedicated to service alerts. @AlertsGRT provides real-time notifications to riders if there is an emergency detour on a bus route or if a trip is cancelled or delayed on a route, including ION light rail service.
  • Region and community partners come together to create more affordable housing Waterloo Region – TheRegion of Waterloo surplus property, 24 Mill Street, is ready for occupancy creating more affordable homes in the Region. In December 2020, MennoHomes was gifted 24 Mill Street in a lottery and underwent repairs in 2021 to get the property ready for a new family’s fresh start.

  • Regional Council reinforces community priorities at 2021 AMO Conference Waterloo Region –Regional Chair Karen Redman as well as Council colleagues advocated on behalf of residents on the provincial stage during the Association of Municipalities of Ontario’s 2021 Conference.
