St. Andrews Storage and Pumping Station

The Region of Waterloo is making necessary upgrades to the St. Andrews storage and pumping station located at 266 St. Andrews Street in Cambridge. The project is being split up into two phases.
Phase one includes:
- Building a new storage tank
Phase two includes:
- Upgrading the pumping station
- Decommissioning the existing standpipe
- Replacing the site driveway and fencing
This project improves water storage and pumping so the system can reliably meet current and future water needs in Cambridge and North Dumfries, while supporting planned regional water system upgrades.

Construction phase 1: June–December 2026
Construction phase 2: Spring 2027–Winter 2028

Construction impacts
Two-way traffic will be maintained for majority of the work. For two weeks during phase one, lanes will be restricted at the St. Andrews Street and Southwood Drive intersection. More details will be provided during construction.
Advance notice of any water supply disruptions will be provided.
