Status: construction

Create new Cambridge 1 West pressure zone through several infrastructure improvements. The new pressure zone is needed to address opportunities and challenges including:

• Low water pressure in areas of Preston
• Mixing of chlorine and chloramine (undesirable) due to an emergency high water demand incident 
• Improving flow capacity to support water pressure levels and fire flow capacity throughout the study area
• Lowering of the Cambridge 1 hydraulic grade line (HGL) to enhance operation and efficiencies of the Turnbull Reservoir
• Changing pressure zone secondary disinfection residual to enable operational flexibility and improve overall security of water supply to Preston area
