Bleams Road (Trussler to Fischer-Hallman Road)

The Region has finished the reconstruction of Bleams Road from Trussler Road to Fischer-Hallman Road in Kitchener. This work included:

New multi-use path throughout project limits
New roundabouts at Commonwealth, Donnenwerth, Isaiah and Trussler intersections
New watermain
New storm sewer
Upgraded a section of sanitary sewer
Replaced road structure and asphalt

These improvements make it easier and safer for all residents to get around, whether by car, public transit, bike, or foot.

Getting around during construction

The Bleams road is open to through traffic. Over the construction period, we have:

Urbanized Bleams Road from Fischer-Hallman Road to Trussler Road (installed curb and gutter and storm sewer)
Installed multi-use pathways for active transportation on both sides of the roadway
Installed 4 new roundabouts at Commonwealth St, Donnenwerth Dr, Isaiah Dr, and Trussler Rd, all with raised pedestrian crossings.

Trussler Road (Knetchel Court to Nathalie Street)

The Region of Waterloo is improving Trussler Road to support the growing community and improve the road network in the area.

The work includes the installation of a sanitary sewer on Trussler Road from Nathalie St to Knechtel Court. as well as improvements to the roadway and transportation infrastructure.

Getting around during construction

Construction is expected to begin on or about September 28 and will be completed in three stages. Stage 1 will involve a lane shift for approximately 27 days, with traffic shifted within the existing roadway between Rickert Way/Nathalie Street and Ottawa Street South/Bleams Road. Two-way traffic will be maintained, and no road closure or detour will be required.

Stage 2 will involve a northbound closure, followed by Stage 3, which will involve a full closure. Details about each stage, including traffic impacts and detour routes, will be shared as construction progresses.
