Erb Street
Overview
Project number: 07327 | Updated: August 2025
The Region of Waterloo is improving Erb Street from Fischer-Hallman Road to Wilmot Line. Phase 1 of this construction was completed in 2022 between Fischer-Hallman Road and Erbsville Court. This work included replacing the underground infrastructure, widening to four lanes, resurfacing asphalt and improving active transportation facilities.
The next phase of construction is from Ira Needles Boulevard to Gate 1 of the Waste Management Site. This work will include constructing a new roundabout at the west exit from Westside Marketplace plaza, adding active transportation facilities, widening the road to four lanes, installing new storm sewer and sanitary infrastructure and asphalt resurfacing. The active transportation facilities will include an on-road bike lane on both sides with a multi-use path going around the roundabout.
These road improvements will help to meet projected traffic growth in this area and improve active transportation facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
