East Boundary Road

The Region of Waterloo is planning for the construction of East Boundary Road in Cambridge. This will be a new roadway on the south-east side of Cambridge and the north-east side of North Dumfries.
The new East Boundary Road will enhance connectivity in Cambridge, improve traffic flow, reduce commuter based and heavy trucking congestion in Cambridge downtown core and support urban and economic growth.
Phase 1 of construction will be from Highway 8 (Dundas Street South) to Wesley Boulevard.

Environmental assessment completed in 2020
Design: 2021–2026
Construction phase 1: 2027–2029
Note: timing may be affected by property acquisition, agency approvals, weather conditions and changing project scope; updates will be posted as needed.
Budget
$26.3 million (as per the current Transportation Capital Plan)
