Getting around during construction
Construction on New Dundee Road is now complete. The Region will complete final construction activities in June 2026.
New Dundee Road between Reichert Drive and Pinnacle Drive will be closed overnight on June 23 and 24 (7 p.m. to 6 a.m.). During these closures, there will be no access to New Dundee Road from Pinnacle Drive, Robert Ferrie Drive, or Reichert Drive.
Outside of the overnight closures, New Dundee Road will remain open to two-way traffic, with temporary lane restrictions at times.
During overnight closures, local traffic should use the following routes to access Doon South:

Schedule
Design and planning: 2022
Detailed design: 2024–2025
Construction: July - November 2026
Note: timing may be affected by weather conditions and changing project scope; updates will be posted as needed.
Budget
$2,957,000
Getting around during construction
Construction of the roundabout will be completed in two stages to reduce traffic impacts. In Stage 1, the norther section of Fischer-Hallman Road will be closed, while Stage 2 will involve closure of the southern section. Local access and traffic movements will be maintained where possible throughout construction.
Detours will be in place during each stage. Southbound traffic on Fischer-Hallman Road will be redirected via Huron Road and Trussler Road in Stage 1. In Stage 2, eastbound traffic on New Dundee Road will be detoured via Trussler Road to Cedar Creek, while access to the gas station from the south will be maintained.
During construction, traffic may occasionally be required to travel on a gravel surface and may be controlled by traffic control staff.
