Westmount Road | Fischer-Hallman to Block Line

The Region of Waterloo is planning improvements to Westmount Road between Fischer-Hallman Road and Block Line Road in Kitchener. The project will include pavement rehabilitation, installation of new storm sewers, improved active transportation facilities for pedestrians and cyclists, new GRT bus stops, permanent traffic signals at Westmount Rd. and Tillsley Dr., and intersection improvements at Westmount Road/Fischer-Hallman Road and Westmount Road/Block Line Road. These improvements will make it easier and safer for all residents to get around, whether by car, public transit, bike, or foot.

This reconstruction has been deferred to 2031. The capital program is reviewed and updated each year, and project timelines may change as priorities and funding are reassessed. Planning and design work will continue to ensure the project is ready when construction is scheduled. Residents will receive advance notice of construction and project updates as they become available.
