Trussler Road

The Region of Waterloo is improving Trussler Road from Bleams Road to just south of the Highway 7/8 interchange in Kitchener and Wilmot. The Regional Transportation Master Plan has identified this road as needing to be widened with active transportation facilities. This project is in the early stages of a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation is undertaking the planning and design of the Trussler and Highway 7/8 interchange upgrades.

Environmental assessment: 2023–2026
Design and planning: 2026–2027
Construction: 2028

Note: timing may be affected by weather conditions and changing project scope; updates will be posted as needed.

Public engagement 

Engagement is currently open from May 11 to June 10, 2026. During this period, residents and stakeholders are invited to learn more about the project and submit any questions for the project team. 

This engagement builds on earlier input received during the November 12 to December 12, 2024 engagement period, as the project continues to advance through the planning and design process.
