The Region has finished the reconstruction of Bleams Road from Trussler Road to Fischer-Hallman Road in Kitchener. This work included:

• New multi-use path throughout project limits
• New roundabouts at Commonwealth, Donnenwerth, Isaiah and Trussler intersections
• New watermain
• New storm sewer
• Upgraded a section of sanitary sewer
• Replaced road structure and asphalt 

These improvements make it easier and safer for all residents to get around, whether by car, public transit, bike, or foot.

Getting around during construction

The Bleams road is open to through traffic. Over the construction period, we have:

• Urbanized Bleams Road from Fischer-Hallman Road to Trussler Road (installed curb and gutter and storm sewer)
• Installed multi-use pathways for active transportation on both sides of the roadway
• Installed 4 new roundabouts at Commonwealth St, Donnenwerth Dr, Isaiah Dr, and Trussler Rd, all with raised pedestrian crossings.

The public was encouraged to participate in this project during the environmental assessment in 2022. See details of that engagement on the EngageWR project page.
