Water Street South

The Region of Waterloo is planning improvements to Water Street South between Ainslie Street South and Myers Road in Cambridge. The project will include pavement rehabilitation, and new transit, cycling and pedestrian facilities.

Construction details include:

  • Milling existing asphalt surface and repaving
  • Removing on-road cycle lanes and upgrading to a multi-use path separated by concrete barriers
  • Pedestrian islands will be added between Cambridge to Paris Rail Trail and Churchill Park

These improvements make it easier for everyone to get around, whether by public transit, bike, foot or by car.

Design and planning: 2024–2025
Construction: 2026
