Westmount Road | Victoria to Erb
Overview
Project number: 05657 | Updated: February 2025
We are improving Westmount Road from Victoria Street to Erb Street in Kitchener and Waterloo. This includes a full road and intersection reconstruction, underground infrastructure replacement, and active transportation improvements. We are currently doing a schedule C municipal class environmental assessment for this road, which includes a comprehensive review of existing conditions, evaluating design options, assessing potential impacts and improvements to enhance the road for all users.
We received public feedback for this project in 2019 and have since changed the scope of the project. We are using that feedback in our current planning process and will engage the public again during our environmental assessment.
While the environmental assessment study is underway, we have installed temporary traffic signals at the Westmount and Union intersection to improve traffic conditions and provide pedestrian crossings.
