Westmount Road | Victoria to Erb
Overview
Project number: 05657 | Updated: February 2025
We are improving Westmount Road from Victoria Street to Erb Street in Kitchener and Waterloo. This includes a full road and intersection reconstruction, underground infrastructure replacement, and active transportation improvements.
We received public feedback for this project in 2019 and have since changed the scope of the project. We are using that feedback in our current planning process and will engage the public again during our environmental assessment.
While waiting for an environmental study, we have installed temporary traffic signals at the Westmount and Union intersection to improve traffic conditions and provide pedestrian crossings. Single-lift resurfacing is also currently planned for 2028 along with City watermain replacement in the interim.
