Highway 7/8 Pedestrian Bridge

Construction of a pedestrian and cycling bridge has been installed over Highway 7/8 connecting Avalon Place to Chandler Drive/Strasburg Road. The new bridge can be accessed through a ramp or staircase on each side and is met with new sidewalk along the south side of Avalon Place and a multi-use path along Strasburg Road to Ottawa Street. Final landscaping work and finishing touches will be completed this summer.

Note: timing may be affected by weather conditions and changing project scope; updates will be posted as needed.

Construction for the bridge began in 2022 and was delayed due to supply chain shortages across the country.
