Highway 7/8 Pedestrian Bridge

Construction of a pedestrian and cycling bridge to be installed over Highway 7/8 connecting Avalon Place to Chandler Drive/Strasburg Road. There will be a ramp and stairs at each end of the bridge. This project also includes a new sidewalk along the south side of Avalon Place and a multi-use trail along Strasburg Road to Ottawa Street.

Getting around during construction
Construction of the bridge will take place on Avalon Place and Chandler Drive. Avalon Place (between Stirling Avenue and Southmoor Drive) will be restricted to a single lane, westbound direction only. There is no street parking available in this construction zone for the duration of the work.

Additional notes
Construction for the bridge began in 2022 and was delayed due to supply chain shortages across the country.
