Bleams Road | Fischer-Hallman to Trussler

The Region is reconstructing Bleams Road from Trussler Road to Fischer-Hallman Road in Kitchener. This work includes:

  • Adding a multi-use path throughout project limits
  • New roundabouts at Commonwealth, Donnenwerth, Isaiah and Trussler intersections
  • Installing a new watermain
  • Installing a new storm sewer
  • Upgrading a section of sanitary sewer
  • Replacing road structure and asphalt 

These improvements will make it easier and safer for all residents to get around, whether by car, public transit, bike, or foot.

Construction: 2024–2025

  • Fischer-Hallman to Forestwalk: May 2024–October 2024
  • Forestwalk to Donnenwerth: October 2024–December 2024
  • Donnenwerth to Trussler: January 2025–August 2025
  • Trussler roundabout: July 2025–October 2025

Project details

Getting around during construction

Closures

Construction will proceed in stages, from Fischer-Hallman Road heading to Trussler Road. During each stage, Bleams Road will be closed to through traffic. Local access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, residents and patrons of the immediate area. As each stage is completed, it will be reopened to traffic.

Detour

A detour will be in place on Fischer-Hallman, Ottawa and Trussler for through traffic. Emergency Services have been notified of the construction, closures and detours to minimize any disruptions to services.

Grand River Transit detours

Pedestrian access

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained along Bleams Road from Forestwalk Street to Fischer Hallman Road. Pedestrians should follow the signs as they walk through the site.

Property and business access

Access will be available to all businesses, institutions and residences in the construction area, with only temporary impacts to access. Businesses remain open.
