Bleams Road

Overview

The Region is reconstructing Bleams Road from Trussler Road to Fischer-Hallman Road in Kitchener. This work includes:

  • Adding a multi-use path throughout project limits
  • New roundabouts at Commonwealth, Donnenwerth, Isaiah and Trussler intersections
  • Installing a new watermain
  • Installing a new storm sewer
  • Upgrading a section of sanitary sewer
  • Replacing road structure and asphalt 

These improvements will make it easier and safer for all residents to get around, whether by car, public transit, bike, or foot.

Schedule

Environmental assessment: 2021–2022
Design and planning: 2023
Construction: May 2024–December 2025

Note: timing may be affected by weather conditions; updates will be posted as needed.

Closures

Bleams Road between Donnenwerth Drive and Fischer-Hallman Road will be closed for final surface asphalt paving between November 10 and early December.

Detour

Trussler Road — Ottawa Street S — Fischer-Hallman Road

Property and business access

Access will be available to all businesses, institutions and residences in the construction area, with only temporary impacts to access. Businesses remain open.
