Financial Assistance
Many people in Waterloo Region struggle to meet their basic needs. It could be a senior on a limited income who is at risk of losing his home because of rising hydro rates, or a parent who can't work to support their family because he or she can't afford child care.
Financial assistance can be a first step to improving lives. The Region of Waterloo and its partners offer a range of programs and services to help. These include:
- Income support if you are out of work or are only working part time
- Help with utilities or help with rent to maintain housing stability
- Help paying for child care
- A discounted GRT bus pass
- Access to affordable food

These programs have requirements that need to be met in order to receive financial assistance.
