Alcohol and Drugs

Misuse of alcohol and drugs takes an enormous toll on society causing illness, injury, violence, unemployment, family breakdown, lost potential and the cost of providing care. Alcohol and drugs can have many short and long-term health effects on the body, brain and behaviour. The effects can be physical, psychological and mental and can be different for each drug used.

Taking alcohol and drugs together can be dangerous! When people use alcohol and drugs they can create harm to themselves or others including injuries, infections and chronic diseases.
