Columbia Street

The Region of Waterloo is planning to install a new 450 mm watermain on Columbia Street from Westmount Road to King Street North in Waterloo. We will also be replacing a local 300 mm watermain from Westmount Road to Hagey Boulevard. This project will also include road resurfacing along sections of Columbia Street West, and painted bicycle lanes.
This work is being done in collaboration with the City of Waterloo. These watermain improvements will improve the water distribution in the region, ensuring more reliable and efficient delivery of water to residents and businesses
Schedule
Design and planning: 2024–2025
Construction phase 1 (King Street to Phillip Street): 2026
Construction phase 2 (Phillip Street to Old Post Road): 2027
Note: timing may be affected by weather conditions and changing project scope; updates will be posted as needed.
