Water Bill Insert
February to March 2026
Notice a spike in water use on your bill?
Many factors lead to high water use. A home water review can help find the source.
To qualify for a free review:
Your household’s monthly water use per person must be at least 5.5 cubic metres (m3).
Example: A four-person household using 22 cubic metres of water a month qualifies: 22 ÷ 4 = 5.5 cubic metres per person.
During your home visit we’ll:
- Review your bill as a tool to better understand household water use
- Check for common leaks and other sources of high water use
- Provide clear, practical tips and resources
Note: A home water review is not a plumbing inspection or guarantee of leak detection.
Did you know? Toilet leaks are a common source of wasted water
Do a quick check to find costly toilet leaks:
- Add a few drops of dark food colouring to the toilet tank.
- Wait 15 to 30 minutes.
- If you see food colouring in the toilet bowl, you have a leak. Water should not move between the toilet tank and toilet bowl unless flushed.
- Flush toilet to avoid stains.
Cleaning or replacing a worn toilet flapper valve often stops a leak. Most toilet leaks can be simple and inexpensive to fix.
